Steve:

Yeah!!  Blogs!  What.  Oh yeah, Metal.  Metal Shop kicked ass AGAIN as usual. (no suprise)

NEW Slipknot and Dragonforce was played.  Dude, if you have not gotten the new Slipknot and you LIKE Slipknot, you should probably obtain it.  I was not really suprised by the disc, but more got what I was expecting… in a good way.

Same with Dragonforce, really.  Bands doing what they doin and doin it welll!  Slipknot captured my love with their very first big label release and I been lovin em ever since.  LIVE, there is no one superior, in this day and age… (Gwar ties with them)

Kevin, we should post up a bunch of the Mayhem pics cause that day was NUTS!  Seriously.  We/everything were/was SO badass that day, at White River Amph.  Slipknot, Machine Head and the open bar, for starters…

(blog picture is me and Troy (Mastodon) and Justin (3IoB) and his bro, drinkin drinks)

KEVIN:

Folks, if you haven’t figured it out yet… Steve’s brain doesn’t appear to function quite as well as everyone elses… especially when it comes to things like properly posting a blog on our website, or saying the right things at the time right times, or choosing what to do with that rat nest on his head that he calls hair.  Steve, for the record… I really hate your idea of posting joint blogs.  But I’m willing to amuse you and give it a shot because I’m always open to other people’s ideas and am usually willing to try them, a concept I’m not entirely sure you know anything about LAWL!

Anyways, as if we needed more proof that Steve’s mental elevator doesn’t quite reach the top floor, he decided it’d be a good idea to give me the link to his ENTIRE PHOTOBUCKET ALBUM.  He wants me to post the pics he took at Mayhem Fest, which I will do, but not before I take advantage of this glorious oppourtunity that he just conveniently dropped in my lap.  So, without further ado, let’s take a peek into good ol Steve’s photobucket account, whatta say?!?!?!

What do we got here?  Steve jumping.  Go figure!

Hmmmmmmmm…..

I think I may have actually taken this one and in hindsight, I’m not really sure how I feel about that.

The many (stupid) faces of Steve.

Here’s a BEAUTIFUL Steve Rock MySpace photo!!  hahahaha

Yeah Steve, suck it down!  Whatever it is…

“Thar she (my mom) blows… just at the edge of shore!”

OK I could keep going and I would love to, but I’ll save some embarassment for later.  There are actually things here that even I won’t post anywhere haha.  But yeah, Steve was right about Mayhem Fest.  It was completely nuts.  Probably the most fun we’ve ever had at any show as hosts of Metal Shop.  Here are some good pics from that day.  I am bummed I forgot my camera at home because I actually put it out next to my keys and wallet the night before and STILL managed to forget to bring it with me.  All pics below courtesy of Steve.  Enjoy!

Dragonforce and I became fast friends!  There’s a similar picture like this with Steve in it, but he’s too cool for school and won’t post it anywhere.  Just so you guys know it DOES (or at least did at one point) exist!!!

Blogging is kinda fun!  Tell us if this joint blog makes any sense to you guys and if you can tell who’s writing what.  It’d be much appreciated!  Thanks a ton!   kevin at kisw.com –  steve at kisw.com. Werd.

The Internets Are Fun To Type On With Thought Ideas by Steve Rock

Is this thing on?  Hello?  Hello…..  Yes.  Cool.  OK, well then…  A “blog” of “metal” is what you have stumbled upon.  You are welcome, yes.  I am approached daily by people asking to share what is inside this big head of mine.  Well here you go!  (Kevin’s blogs will suck by comparison)

LAST Metal Shop, Kev was not THERE!  Equals badass evening of brutal badassness.

Bitter sweet though as it was also the evening of (Seattle’s own) Himsa’s FINAL show!  Sold out at El Co, I had to run down there (two blocks) DURING Metal Shop for one last stage dive… which was extremely successful.  I had a standing ovation, in fact!  Though that MIGHT have been for the band…eh.

I have enclosed a picture of Kevin on a ferry……….  Yeah, take that for what it is……yeah.

Heh, we did have a rad camping trip out at his property on the peninsula and the boat rides to and from were quite excellent.  Get out!  That’s my advice for those who have NOT gotten to be in the wilderness for even 24 straight hours this summer.  Sets yer head straight and gets you more stoked on the many fantastic toys we have today, in civilization.

Thanks for peeping this sah-weeeet blog!  MUCH more to come!  And metal.  And beer.

What’s up everyone! Kevin here… can you believe this… Hairclub actually decided to let us do a blog!  As if putting us on the air together isn’t a terrible enough idea in the first place haha.  So here we are with our very first one ever!  Basically these blogs are going to serve to recap the show a bit, talk about some of our thoughts (me and Steve) on whatever the hell we feel like talking about, show videos of bands we like or played, crazy debauchery that goes down in the studio during the show, and all the other stuff you’ve come to expect from a blog in 2008.   I’m not sure how often we’re going to do them, but I can say for sure it will be at least once a week.  My brain is always burning with randomness that needs an outlet, so I will post here whenever I feel the urge.

I can’t speak for Steve, but I plan on covering a lot of ground with my posts on this blog.  In addition to all things metal, I am into a bunch of other stuff that rules as well and I always like to share.  I know there are some of you out there that love sports or video games or really good beers or hot girls or all of the above!  Nothing is off limits in my posts.

The show this week was somewhat bittersweet.  It was the first show in 3 weeks that Steve and I actually did together.  I was gone last week, he was gone the week before.  But this we week we reunited for more of the same old jokes about my mom from Steve and me shaking my head and just laughing in ironic comedy (Steve’s mother is a very delightful person who I enjoy visiting frequently).  We had some good tickets to give away for Blackest of the Black with Danzig and Dimmu Borgir, and also for Himsa’s final show on Saturday.  We also had Derek, Kirby and John from Himsa in the studio with us and it was a totally awesome and hilarious time, as it always is when those dudes join us!  It just kind of sucks that this will most likley be the very last time they’re all in there with us.  They all sound excited about their futures though and that’s the most important thing, so I’m happy for them and what they’ve already accomplished so far.  We should have taken a picture with them.  It would have been perfect for this first ever Metal Shop blog.  But they brought special treats them, of the adult variety and I don’t know if any of you have ever tried that kind of stuff before, but sometimes it can make you forget things.  We apologize!

As you may have noticed, there are some new things on the Metal Shop page here that are pretty cool.  We now update our playlist in real time, so you can see what we play as we play it (well, almost).  Also, the new On Demand player will feature entire episodes of Metal Shop completely commercial free, interviews, and other cool stuff.  Check it all out.  Look at us go!

All right, I’m going to try to get this thing posted now.  We’ll see what happens.  I’m going to bug Steve about getting into posting mode, so maybe in a day or two you’ll see something from him.  Who knows though.. his computer brain doesn’t always work so well.  Hopefully he won’t figure out how to edit my posts haha.

Before I go, check out this delicious pizza:
