Steve:

FINALLY got some pictures off the camera, on the computer, off the computer, to the internet and now to THIS blog.  Yeah!  Mayhem was sick, if you were there you know this, and everyone just kinda kicked ass and did some Best Of sets!  I was already content by the time BEHEMOTH (see right here) was done.  They sounded better outside than in the past.  Ezkaton!

Then Corpse just came out and murdered every single person watching…as usual.  True professionals here.  The END of their set was excellent as Trevor from the BDM came out to help Corpsegrinder out on the vocals.  (see.  look.)

And WHAT can I say about Slayer…. nothing that has not been said before.  I was proud to have met many fans, first timers as well as a bro who has now enjoyed em twenty one times, live.  i enjoyed my spot on the side of the stage.  Oh and the whole Everything On Fire Even The Slayer Logo thing… it was righteous.

And ending the night… well Manson… he was Manson, and that man puts on a great live show.  He will hopefully continue to creep out and entertain for years to come.

Mayhem was exactly that.  I wish I had my camera out for all the truly insane and epic moments but they tend to happen too quickly for the camera to see…  Thanks for coming out to the show!

Big shout to Killswitch who rocked it as well as Howard for being good company.

Ya’ll better go to the Down show soon!  Go. Go.  Go be metal.  Or who will……..

It’s Steve:
Wow, we are really unconsiderate… wait, Kevin just told me that word is not… a word.  Inconsiderate.  We are very IN…considerate.  I was just thinking of all the people we have dissed, yelled at and talked trash about in the last few years.  The list of people we support and admire… it is long.  The list of people we do not like…. Much longer.  I won’t get into it now, for fear of the people we hate… hating on us in return….. I don’t like it.  I want this to be a One Way Hate bridge.  ANYway, the list grew to Swedish people this evening as I have decided that they talk funny.  They look like Skwisgaar from Dethklok and talk funny.  At least that is the stereotype I am trying to put out there.

Kevin says he has nothing against the Swede’s funny voices or the people in general… but I know he is just saying that for fear of getting his ass kicked by Amon Amarth.  Psh.  I had the slogan, “Hate in ‘08” and now we are trying to get going, “Hate is Fine in 2009” and the momentum is picking up!  Hey, I am no racist.  I hate all people equally… I just wish more people would come out of the hate closet and let their hate shine!  It’s the Half-Haters that really make the real haters look bad.  All or nothing, bro.  Like anything else in life!  Go all out or get out.  That is why I love Swedish metal.  They are completely committed to their shredding and judjudding metal of awesomeness…  See?  I love Swedez.  I just wishs theys didn’ts talks sos funnies.  Also, I hate people that think their baby is better than everyone else’s.

Mayhem and Marduk and Cephalic and Cattle and MUCH MORE on Friday at S7!

Get there or get kicked….   (ps – get the new Agoraphobic Nosebleed… it’s kosher)

KEVIN:

Hello friends.  Welcome back to our mighty blog!  I was hoping this would be our badass amazing blog full of photos of Unearth in studio with us, but I”m going to blame it on Steve.  He still hasn’t given me the photos off his camera, so you should all send him some hate e-mail and get on him to download them already so we can post them!!!!  COME ON STEVE!!!!! UNEARTHHHHH!!!!!! NOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!

Anyways, I want to tell you all how stoked I am for the Gojira show coming up on May 18th (a week from today).  If you pay attention to the show, you probably know by now how much I love that band.  As much as it pains me to say it, I have to give a little bit of credit to Steve for helping me discover how awesome they are.  Way back in the day Steve played them for me and I kind of wrote them off as “decent” and didn’t give it much thought beyond that.  A couple weeks later we got a copy of their latest album (it was From Mars to Sirius at the time) and I held onto it for a few days before actualyl listening to it.  I remember that first play very vividly.  I was on my way to a friend’s house and we were going to carpool the rest of the way to band practice.  I really dug the cd this time, maybe because I had put it in and checked it out on my own accord this time.  And when I got to my friend’s place, we jumped in his car and I put it in.  He loved it right off the bat too, which probably amplified my love for it too.  It’s always a lot easier to really fall in love with an album when it blows your mind AND your friend’s mind at the same time.

Gojira has been my favorite band ever since, and Steve and I have already seen them 3 times.  The first was in Portland with Lamb of God.  We got to interview Joe (vocals/guitar) and he was a totally cool guy who shares a very similar outlook on life and the way the world works (or the way it doesn’t work) as me.  One of my favorite aspects of Gojira’s music are the lyrics.  I could talk about them and what I think of them and what they mean forever and if I started I wouldn’t be able to stop, so I will just recommend that you check them out.  They make the music even more powerful than it already is.

Anyways, getting sidetracked… what I want to talk about is their HEADLINING show at El Corazon on the 18th.  The 3 times we’ve seen them already, they’ve been a support act, meaning they only play for probably 25 minutes tops.  Sucks when they have so many badass tunes.  Not this time however!  They have a great new album out called The Way of All Flesh that we’ve been spinning for quite a while now.  I’ve seen some setlists from this tour and they’re playing all the best songs from this album as well as a bunch of killer tunes from the older albums also.  They’re headlining, there are only 3 bands on the bill, so this means they’re going to play FOREVER!  So stoked.  Tickets are still available so go get some.  What else are you going to do on Monday May 18th?!  Trust me, it’ll be worth it.  Gojira is amazing in a live setting and probably one of the heaviest bands you’ll ever see!  Do yourself a favor and don’t miss it!

Here’s a video from their performance in Dublin, Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day.  Needless to say, it’s completely insane. I hope you people go crazy like this for Gojira at El Corazon!  I will be!
